Will your furniture fit? Read the drawing carefully

How Planlilt checks footprints, door swings and the gaps around selected furniture.

A footprint is the starting point

The checker uses the width, depth, position and rotation stored in your plan. For irregular furniture, its rectangular footprint is an approximation. A round table and a curved chair can therefore produce conservative results. Use the actual maximum product dimensions.

Read overlap and wall checks

Furniture overlap means two rectangular footprints intersect. Wall overlap means a footprint intersects the wall thickness drawn in the plan. Door openings are removed from the wall-footprint test. Rugs are excluded because they commonly sit under other furniture. A combined sink and counter may overlap intentionally.

Inspect door swings

The shaded door sector follows the opening width, wall angle and hinge direction in your plan. Select the opening to change its width, location or swing direction. A check is only useful if these details match the real door. Windows and furniture do not receive vertical-clearance checks.

Use spacing as a target, not a guarantee

Selecting furniture lets you choose a target gap and see nearby pieces that are closer than that target. The target is user-defined. The tool does not test a continuous route, wheelchair maneuvering, reach, fire escape, structural rules or local building regulations.

Finish with a physical test

Mark the largest footprints on the floor with temporary tape. Walk the routes, pull out chairs, open drawers and doors, and consider curtains and radiators. Resolve differences between the sketch and the actual room before ordering or moving heavy furniture.
